I'll Bet You Thought I Was Dead

This morning brought the Skiffy catalogue, "small parts, big range!" (The exclamation mark is theirs). I now have a source for plastic book screws, nylon bundle clips and more polypropelene tube plugs than you can shake a stick at.

It's been ages since my last post...well, in the interim nothing has happened. I'm disappointed to report that the flow of Workwear and Janatorial catalogues has somewhat dried up and also that Indian Summer will definitely not be happening this year. Sigh. It DID turn out that Tom Waits would have been in the country just about the right time for it too, as per my prediction. I did not predict however that tickets for his shows would pass the £120 mark. Still, Leonard Cohen next week, that should be a laugh...

Actually, it's not been a bad year for gigs so far. Latest was Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan at the ABC in Glasgow. A very quiet affair (not a performance you wouldn't call dynamic at any stage - in fact the two singers looked like they'd just fallen out) we stood at the back and got quietly hammered. An ill advised post gig trip to the Chip (open till one AM for the opening of an envelope) resulted in near horizontality on the part of all present.

Best gig for ages though was Gogol Bordello. Amazing. I've never been so tired after a gig. I was ill for days afterwards.

You can tell it's quiet here, I've spent the morning checking out scooters again.
