Sit Up and Beg

Some of you may have checked out the annual Tweed Run on (strangely nearly all American) blogs such as ACL. Wanna join in?

Here's a rare and hard to find wee item for the gentleman roadman, the trad cycling shoe!
http://reynoldsshoes.co.uk/

Pair them with this unlikey product
http://www.yakkay.com/index.html

A trad bike from Denmark by way of Germany
http://velorbis.com/gb

Or one of these originals
http://www.cyclesofyesteryear.com/cycleshop/classic.htm

And a saddlebag from the original and best maker
http://www.carradice.co.uk/

And you're good to go...except for the tweed , of course.

Nice recap. Per you comments on my blog, I'm not a fan or Rapha. I like some of their styling but watched their brand go from unique/interesting, beautifully made items ($100+ goatskin gloves, nicely cut jerseys) to something more couture, more lifestyle driven. There's promise in their product line but the austerity matrix side of me says: order a "Portland" style jacket from Showers Pass (out of Seattle, WA).

Add "joy rider" and "bicycle fixation" to your source list for classic cyclo-touring clothing.

Looking forward to future posts.

Thanks for the comments and the suggested links Les.
I bought a pair of the Rapha gloves....shocking! got blisters and everything. Not worth the money. The Rapha prices are only up as far as they are in order to put them on a par luxury wise with Asos, IMO.
I have the original softshell jacket though, and it's the best I've seen. Superior even to the Asos offering at that time.
I'll post another pile of links later today.
